The Vernon Middle School 8th Grade Band performed with the Marion High School Marching Band at the Senior Night Football Game on October 13th. Due to weather, the pre-game performance had to be moved indoors. Eighth Grade students prepared two pep band tunes, as well as the Marion Fight Song during the weeks leading up to the joint performance. This experience provides students with an opportunity to perform with the MHS Band, and to get a taste of what marching band will be like when they are freshmen next year.
The Vernon Band Directors enjoy having opportunities for the High School students to perform with their students. This evening gives students a valuable peek into the high school marching band program. Our Vernon students also got to see an indoor version of the MHS marching show. We hope that the weather will cooperate next year so our students can enjoy this fall performance at Marion's new stadium.
