A new Iowa state law requires county auditors to mail city, county, and school district budget statements to taxpayers in late March of each year.
In advance of these items arriving in mailboxes, the Marion Independent School District wants to inform the community about what residents will see when they view the district’s statement.
Notably, MISD’s proposed property tax rate for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 will be less than the current rate for FY 2024. Below is a breakdown:
Current Tax Rate (FY 2024): $18.0066
Effective Tax Rate (FY 2024): $16.7605
Proposed Tax Rate (FY 2025): $17.9133
