On Tuesday, March 5, residents of the Marion Independent School District will vote on a Physical Plant and Equipment Levy (PPEL).
Maintaining our school facilities and technology requires expenses that often go beyond what our operating budget can cover alone. The PPEL generates approximately $1 million annually, providing funds for:
✅Maintenance for facilities, including a roofing project at Francis Marion Intermediate School
✅Security enhancements (secure entrances, cameras, door systems, etc.) to keep students and staff safe
✅Improving air quality, including a new HVAC system at Marion High School
✅Bus and vans for student transportation
✅Technology, allowing us to be 1:1 for student devices
✅Equipment, including lawnmowers, floor scrubbers, and maintenance vehicles
